Overview

The Brahmatal Trek is widely celebrated as one of the best winter treks in Uttarakhand, offering snow-laden trails, frozen alpine lakes, mythological charm, and awe-inspiring Himalayan views. Nestled in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, this 6-day circular trail begins from Lohajung and reaches a height of 12,300 ft, making it ideal for beginners and intermediate trekkers seeking adventure in the snow.

This Uttarakhand trek is known for its two pristine lakes – Bekaltal and Brahmatal, which freeze into magical mirrors during winter. The route meanders through ancient oak and rhododendron forests, vibrant meadows, and panoramic ridgelines. Along the way, trekkers witness jaw-dropping views of iconic peaks like Mt. Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Maiktoli, and Mrigthuni, especially from scenic vantage points like Tilandi Top and Jhandi Top.

What truly elevates the Brahmatal experience is its connection with mythology – it's believed that Lord Brahma meditated at Brahmatal Lake, adding a spiritual essence to this already surreal journey. This trek isn't just a hike – it’s an immersive blend of nature, adventure, and ancient tales.

Perfect for winter trekking, Brahmatal offers a dramatic snow experience, high-altitude campsites, and crystal-clear night skies ideal for stargazing. Whether you're a photographer, a mountain lover, or someone seeking solitude in Himalayan serenity, the Brahmatal Trek delivers a soul-satisfying adventure unlike any other.
